I can’t believe that 2024 is almost over! Everyone is in their retrospective era, looking back on their accomplishments big and small, and reflecting on what went well and what they are glad to leave behind. For me, this last year has been incredibly busy and fulfilling. I’ve been able to accomplish all of my resolutions I set out to do - the one most relevant to this newsletter is starting a business! I tried new foods, went to new places, deepened relationships, and learned so many new things.
My heart is full of gratitude for this space to share. Thank you for being here. If you’re looking for a Deep North Eats read tonight or tomorrow, re-visit a post you loved, or check one out that you missed this year.

My 4 Favorite Posts to Write
These didn’t hit the numbers of the above newsletters, but something about these posts touched on something special for me. Some are personal essays, others are round-ups, and the meal planning post was straight up FUN to write.
The 2 Things I’m Hoping to Write More About in 2025
When I think about 2025, I feel so excited and really believe that there is some ease that is coming for me. I did a lot of firsts last year, and I’m eager to have some comfort with repetition. With this newsletter, I’m dreaming of adding more personal essays to the mix, and a focus on food/food systems in the midst of climate change. I hope those are things you’ll want to read.
If you loved a particular topic, or have an idea for the newsletter for the coming year, please share in the comments!
Thank you for being here: for reading, sharing, commenting, voting on the polls. I really appreciate each one of the 170 of you who subscribe and read my work.
Things I Like
This tortellini soup remains in the rotation, YEARS after the Deep North Soup Group I ran on Instagram fizzled out. Thanks to Emmy for this recommendation in 2019 (I think)!
Easy days filled with crafts and snuggles and winter walks
So much friend time lately has been spent just hanging out and I cherish it so much. We all need to just hang out together more I think.
May your week be gentle and may you eat well. 🌲🥣
